"Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints

But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

Love is a symbol of eternity.  It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end.

You don't have to go looking for love when it's where
you come from.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to
eternal life.

                         ~St. Francis of Asissi
Love grows by giving. The love we give away is the only love we keep. The only way to retain love is to
give it away.

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned,
worn or consumed.

Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with
love, grace and gratitude.

DO IT ANYWAY

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
And self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you
Of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
False friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank;
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis
it is between you and God
It was never between you and them anyway.

~Mother Teresa

A PRAYER FOR ANIMALS

Hear our humble prayer, O God,
for our friends the animals, especially for animals who are suffering;

for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that will be put to death.

We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity, and for those who deal with them  we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.

Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals  and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

~Albert Schweitzer  (1875-1965)

Dogs need to sniff the ground; it's how they keep abreast of current events.

The ground is a giant dog newspaper, containing all kinds of late-breaking dog news items, which, if they are especially urgent, are often continued into the next yard.
